The Pipe Roll Society invites submissions for a sponsored strand at the Leeds International Medieval Congress 2022, 4-7 July 2022, on the theme of: Editing Medieval Records: Past, Present, Future.
The Pipe Roll Society, founded at the Public Record Office (now The National Archives) in 1883, is dedicated to publishing editions of the pipe rolls of the Exchequer and of other related medieval documents, from cartularies to household rolls, from the period c.1100 to 1350.
Proposals are welcomed for twenty-minute papers from scholars of every career stage. Themes may include (but are not limited to): the history of editing enterprises, including the pioneering work of female scholars; new approaches to editing records, including digital editions; and using editions of medieval records in research and teaching.
The Society is able to provide some financial support to the doctoral, post-doctoral and non-salaried speakers in its strand. You do not need to be a member of the Society to submit a proposal.
Please submit a paper title and abstract, of no more than 250 words, together with an outline (of no more than 150 words) of your career stage, research interests and any affiliations, to: email@example.com by 31 August 2021. Please note if you would require financial support from the Society.
